CHRISTMAS TREE PLANTATION LABOURER

We are looking for an energetic, committed and physically fit individual with a love of the outdoors. The role will be on a short-term contract basis to work with our Farm team on our Christmas Tree plantations.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A willingness to work in an outdoor environment
  • Ability to undertake physically demanding work for long periods of time
  • A readiness to work constructively as part of a small and highly dedicated team
  • Customer service (for the team that work at the retail sites)

The following additional skills would be considered an advantage:

  • Licence to operate a chainsaw
  • Licence to drive a tractor

The role involves:

  • Transfer of Christmas Trees from the plantations to the yard
  • Netting Christmas Trees
  • Loading and stacking the trees for transfer onto delivery vehicles, both palletised and loose
  • Any other jobs as may be required
  • Once the trees go on sale, there is an opportunity to work at one of the retail sites

CHRISTMAS TREES SALES MANAGER

We are looking for an outgoing and approachable person to work on a short term contract basis to manage our Christmas trees sales marquee.The successful candidate will possess the following skills.

  • Experience of managing in a retail environment
  • An ability to add a bit of sparkle to the customers experience
  • A willingness to work in an outdoor environment
  • Ability to undertake physically demanding work for large periods of time
  • In addition a competency in preparing trees for selling using a chain saw or hand saw would be an advantage.

The role involves

  • Taking ownership of the Christmas trees sales marquee, keeping it constantly presentable and ensuring that there is a constant supply of good trees on display for sale
  • Enhancing the customer experience and adding a bit of sparkle to the tree buying experience by ensuring that you and the rest of the trees sales team are constantly approachable and jovial
  • Managing a small team which will vary in size day to day depending on the demand
  • Assisting in the set up of the trees sales marquee. Working alongside the technical and grounds team to have it ready for the opening day
  • Liaising with the Christmas trees farms manager on when new orders of trees are required and assisting in taking delivery of the trees when they come
  • Handling payments for trees, keeping on top of the payments during the day and undertaking till reconciliations at the end of the shift

We require somebody who

  • Is a good communicator and is not afraid to come forward and speak to management.
  • Is confident, and is comfortable taking control and organising others.
  • Is self motivated and happy working on their own, when that is required.

The successful candidate would be required to work 6 days per week starting Mon 23rd October. However, there are opportunities for the successful candidate to start immediately and work alongside the Christmas trees farms manager to prepare the trees for cutting.
