UPDATE: Due to the unusual weather conditions, we’ve been delayed building the ice rink, which means it may not be available for our opening weekend (20-22 October). We’ll keep you updated. All other activities will be open as normal.
PLEASE NOTE: From 27 – 31 October last entry to the maze will be 5pm, as it will be transformed each evening for our Special Fright Night Event!
Be amazed and befuddled by our Giant Yew tree maze, filled with surprises at every turn. There are over 2 miles of path in this 8 foot high labyrinth, designed by maze genius, Adrian Fisher.
Climb the Castle viewing tower to look out over the tops of the trees to find your friends and get your bearings or cross bridges and discover playful surprises, musical instruments and some unexpected obstacles.
Ours is the largest evergreen maze in Yorkshire and the 2000 yew trees used to make it were grown here on the estate at Stockeld Park. At the heart of the maze is a unique sculpture, a revolving stainless steel globe, designed by a Yorkshire schoolgirl who entered our children’s sculpture competition.
During the Halloween and Christmas seasons our visitors can also skate on a huge outdoor ice rink, discover the illuminated Enchanted Forest and explore our Nordic Ski trail. Plus, enjoy refreshments in the Woodland Café and even buy a real Christmas Tree to take home.
