Wondering what there is to do at Stockeld Park when it rains? We’re prepared to give the whole family a great day out, whatever the weather!

The changable British weather can be a pain when you’re trying to plan a day out during the school holidays. It’s no secret that Stockeld is at it’s best when the sun is shining, but our outdoor playgrounds and Forest paths are perfect for getting the kids stuck in even during a downpour!

Not a fan of donning wellies and getting muddy? Don’t worry, there’s plenty of sheltered spots around the park to keep the little ones entertained whilst you wait for the rain to clear…..

The Woodside Cafe

food and drink at Stockeld Park, kids family lunch in the Woodland cafe

Stockeld Park’s recently refurbished large indoor, licensed Woodland Café has scrumptious home-made, locally sourced meals, cakes and snacks that will help you to recharge and rest tired feet…then continue those adventures when the weather is cooperating!

Our signature hot chocolates are renowned for their tasty goodness and are the perfect cosy treat after burning all that energy in our Adventure Zones.

Indoor Play Area

Discover the giant indoor jumping pillow and inflatable fountain bouncer, or climb aboard the Stockeld Express and see who’s waiting in the station house.

Our indoor play area is located next to our Woodland Cafe, the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea whilst keeping an eye on the little ones as they bounce, climb and play.

Test your skills on the game machines including fast-paced air hockey or get creative this Summer in our craft area which is located in our Lakeview Marquee.

Yummy Ice Cream Parlour & Lakeview Marquee

kids half term arts and crafts, indoor activities at Stockeld Park

In the Easter, spring and summer months,  we transform the Lake View Cafe into our very own Ice Cream Parlour.  Sited on the rolling meadow at the heart of the Adventure Park, it is the perfect scenic spot to enjoy a delicious treat. We have a wide variety of different scrummy flavours of soft scoop ice cream, served in tubs or cones, together with a choice of flakes, sprinkles and sauces.

Here you can also discover our daily craft activities which are free to join!

The Stockeld Gift Shop

Stockeld Park gift shop, kids toys and games

The fairytale theme at Stockeld Park continues right into our Gift Shop. Would-be pirates and dragon slayers will find all they need,  as will fair maidens seeking fairy gifts and mermaid trinkets. We have puppets and cuddly toys, games and craft, swords and shields. Our shop is the perfect shelter for those lucky enough to have pocket money burning a hole in their rain coats, or simply for a quick browse before a break in the clouds.

Indoor Event Activities

Many of our weekly events feature indoor shows and entertainment such as Pirate Week’s swash buckling shows which take place 3 times a day from the 31st July – 6th August.

Don’t miss Lloyd Warbey (from Disney’s Art Attack) for a week of art fun from 14th – 20th August. Lloyd’s workshop will be open daily for our visitors to create, make & design – pop along and get creative!

These events are included in your entrance fee and will either be held indoors or outside – depending on the weather – so there’s no reason to worry if the heavens open!
