Stockeld Park’s Traditional Land Train Ride for Kids

We’re always looking for new, family-fun activities to add to our adventure park. And 2024 is like no other. We know you’ve all patiently awaited its arrival… it’s time to board the Flying Stocksman!

We’ve recently opened Stockeldbury Station to one and all – so grab your tiny train conductors and climb aboard! The Flying Stocksman is a new land train ride, electricity powered to cut out fuel and nasty emissions.

So, what will you see on this magical train journey? Read your full itinerary below.

Your Train Itinerary

1. Depart from Stockeldbury Station

Your adventure starts at our traditional, Victorian-themed train station. Stockeldbury Station is just near the park’s entrance and is open all day for weary travellers.

When you arrive at the station, buy your ticket from our train conductors, and they’ll stamp it just before you board. Just relax in our waiting room or gather around the covered platform. Our team will let you know when the train is due to arrive.

The Flying Stocksman is a beautiful traditional land train decorated in purple, blue, and gold. It can carry 32 people and has plenty of space for wheelchair users.

Each carriage includes heating, sliding windows and secure doors to keep you and your little one safe and cosy. Please note all children under 16 must have adult supervision.

2. Ride Through the Enchanted Forest

Ride across a magical track through our beautiful Enchanted Forest. As you go by, you’ll pass four outdoor playgrounds, including Woodsands Cove and the Teepee Encampment.

You’ll also gaze onto our dazzling lake, filled with young sailors enjoying the Buccaneer boats. Once you’ve explored on land, head for a boat ride to get your sea legs!

The Flying Stocksman is full of excitement, allowing your children’s imagination to run wild. The train journey only takes 10 minutes, so you have plenty of time to enjoy other activities.

Flying Stocksman Rules:

Remain seated at all times;
Keep inside the carriage – no loose hands or feet!;
No prams allowed – keep it secure in our pram storage;
Take all litter as you leave;
Drink or eat food with caution; and,
No smoking or vaping.

3. Arrive Back at Stockeldbury Station

Your exhilarating land train ride will arrive once again at Stockeldbury Station. Once the Flying Stocksman has stopped, the driver will signal when it’s safe to depart.

Now you’ve had a whistle-stop tour of the Enchanted Forest, it’s time to go exploring. Let your kids clamber in the Spider’s Lair or the Tangle Tree Climb.
