Celebrate the End of SATs Season at Stockeld Park
28th Apr 2025
Take a Break from School & Enjoy the Outdoors!
This month, your children will face their first formal assessment: the national curriculum tests or SATs (Standard Assessment Tests). It's a stressful time for them, and likely for you too, as you guide them through it.
Thankfully, once SAT season is over, you'll have the perfect opportunity to unwind before the final school term. Let’s find out what you can do to have fun!
When Are SATs?
Children in key stages one (KS1) and two (KS2) will complete their SATs during May 2025. The exact dates for year 2 students (KS1) vary by school, so it’s essential to check with your school when the tests are approaching.
If your child is in year 6, they will complete all tests between Monday, the 12th, and Thursday, the 15th of May.
3 Fun Ways to Celebrate the End of SATs
1. Take a Well-Deserved Break
Like after any big exam, the first thing your little ones will crave is relaxation! All that studying can really tire them out, so a dedicated day of downtime is definitely in order.
To help them unwind, we recommend cosy movie marathons, fun family games and even a chance to get creative in the kitchen with some homemade sweet treats.
2. Have Fun Outdoors!
Once everyone feels well-rested, it’s time to go outdoors! Playgrounds are the best place for kids to let off some steam and let their imaginations run wild.
As we all know, kids get bored quite quickly, and your local park will only keep them entertained for a short while. For a full day of adventure, head to Stockeld Park, which has five playgrounds, each with fun themes and activities for your kids to enjoy.

If you have a little Tarzan, we recommend the Tangle Tree Climb or Spider’s Lair, which has climbing nets, tightropes, jungle bridges and zip wires. Our other play areas, like Woodsands Cove and Farmer Foster’s Barnyard, are great for younger adventurers who are still developing their motor skills.

3. Enjoy the May Half-Term (And we mean - really enjoy it!)
After studying hard, your kids will have the May half-term to switch off, but rather than spending it indoors or trying to fill the days in the garden, why not have a fun family day out?
Between May 24th and June 1st, 2025, we’re holding the Spring Adventure, which includes over a week of outdoor activities.

You’ll get to meet characters from Oz on our Enchanted Forest trail, tackle the Munchkin Maze and have fun on our inflatables, go-karts and boats! You can find out what else is on during half-term in our latest blog.
Your kids deserve a treat, so why not make this half-term the best one yet?
