Finding activities to do with kids when it’s cold, wet and raining can be difficult, especially when all they want to do is burn off steam. At Stockeld Park, however, there’s always fun to be had no matter the weather!

We’re home to one of Europe’s largest indoor play areas – our family favourite, Playhive. When it comes to the Playhive, forget everything you previously knew about indoor play areas. Playhive takes indoor play to a whole new level!

What You Can Expect at the Playhive

The Playhive indoor area is designed to take families on an adventure. Journey through four interconnected areas:  space, air, sea and the jungle. Each area has been designed with imagination and creativity in mind, making it fun for both kids and parents!

Set sail across the seas, take to the skies, explore the jungle and blast off into space as you move through each of our exciting zones. Packed with thrilling slides, high-level crossways and interactive games, there’s so much to discover. And if you thought that was it, at the centre of it all is our iconic green tower, featuring our huge helter-skelter that you definitely won’t want to miss.

For our younger adventurers, we have a dedicated toddler zone with slides, swings and lots of other favourite playground activities in a safe, fun-filled space.

Feeling peckish after keeping up with the little ones? Recharge at our Playhive Pizzeria, where you’ll find freshly cooked pizzas, pasta, jacket potatoes, and more, perfect for the entire family!

How to Book Playhive at Stockeld Park

If you’re coming to visit us for our Winter Weekends adventure and are looking to escape the cold, our indoor adventure park is the perfect place. There are multiple ticket types for the Playhive:

• For all-day entry to Playhive, choose our anytime Playhive ticket, which lets you come and go as you please.

• For a pre-booked 90-minute time slot for the Playhive, choose an all-day entry or late entry ticket.

• Under 2’s can enter the Playhive for free, but they still need a booked ticket.

If you’re supervising, you’ll also need a ticket to enter, so don’t forget to book one for yourself! (While you’ll need to supervise your children, you can also join in on the fun!) 

Things to Know Before Attending the Playhive 

We’re all about fun at Stockeld, but we do have to cover the important information too! Here’s what you need to know: 

• No prams & buggies indoors - please prepare to store these in our designated buggy park just outside. We recommend bringing a sling or baby carrier to make things easier, especially if you’re bringing an extra little one! 

• Keep your possessions safe - store your possessions in our free lockers before entering the play area so nothing falls out of your pockets while you’re having fun!

Shoes and bare feet aren’t allowed in the play area - it’s strictly a sock-only zone! We provide Playhive slippers, which can be purchased alongside bookings or on the day from our Play Slipper vending machine.
