What Makes a Great Halloween Family Day Out in Yorkshire?
3rd Aug 2026
A great Halloween family day out includes seasonal activities, outdoor adventure and enough experiences to keep children entertained throughout the day. Rather than visiting a single attraction, many families now look for destinations that bring together every activity in one place, making it easier to enjoy a full day out during October half-term.
In this blog, we’ll cover what to consider when booking a Halloween event, and where best to go for all-day fun this October.
What Should You Look for in a Family Halloween Event?
The best Halloween event should offer enough activities to fill the day, rather than just a single attraction. When comparing Halloween events, look for attractions that include:
-
Interactive Halloween activities
-
Outdoor adventure play
-
Food and drink
-
Activities suitable for a range of ages
-
Essential facilities like baby changing, toilets and pram storage
-
On-site parking

How Can Families Get the Most From Their Visit?
Your Halloween Adventure ticket gives you plenty of time to experience everything included throughout the day. To make the most of your visit:
-
Book tickets early - Our half-term activities are always popular, so book when tickets launch on 4th of September (2026) to give you plenty of time to plan ahead.
-
Allow enough time - With so many activities available, setting aside most of the day means you won’t need to rush between experiences.
-
Dress for the weather - With autumn in full swing, you’ll want to pack cosy clothing and suitable footwear, especially wellies if you are heading to the pumpkin patch. If you’re in the spooky spirit, Halloween costumes are also encouraged!
-
Take breaks - Spend time recharging after each activity so the kids are ready to do it all again at the next spot.

Is pumpkin picking included during Halloween at Stockeld Park?
Yes, entry to the pumpkin patch, as well as the tractor ride, is included in your park ticket. There is, however, a small charge if you’re planning to take a pumpkin home with you.
How long should you allow for a visit to Stockeld Park at Halloween?
Families should allow several hours to enjoy the Halloween Adventure. Many visitors choose to spend most of the day exploring the seasonal activities, adventure play and pumpkin picking.
Can you visit if it rains?
Yes! Stockeld Park's Halloween Adventure includes both indoor and outdoor activities, so there's still plenty to enjoy if the weather changes. The Playhive provides indoor adventure play, while much of the Enchanted Forest benefits from natural tree cover. As with any autumn day out, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear are recommended for outdoor activities such as pumpkin picking.
