Best Family Activities for the February Half-Term

January is finally over! For most, January is considered the longest and slowest month. Now that we’re over the New Year slump, it’s time to start having some real fun.

And what’s better than the February half-term to have a fun-filled day out with the kids? In this blog, you’ll learn about our February Fun activities and how to make this half-term exciting.

When Is February Half-Term 2024?

The February half-term will take place between Monday, the 12th, and Friday, the 16th. School holidays vary by local authority, so it’s essential to check your children’s school website before booking any activities.

If you’re puzzled on what to do, head to Stockeld Park for a day of activities. From the 10th to the 18th of February, we’re holding February Fun, a week-long adventure that’ll keep your kids happy no matter the weather.

5 Things to Do at Half-Term

Sublime Science

For one week only, Sublime Science is coming to Stockeld Theatre! At 12, 1:15 and 2:30pm each day, your kids can watch Mad Marc’s crazy experiments and interact in a workshop-style show filled with science activities.

There will be bubbles, smoke, magic and even some slime. It’s an event you don’t want to miss! Book the ‘Whatever the Weather’ bundle for full access to the show and park.

Enchanted Forest & Outdoor Play

Wave goodbye to game consoles and mobiles, and say hello to the beautiful outdoors! While the air may be crisp, our Enchanted Forest is a magical spot to transport your kid’s imagination.

Wander through acres of ancient woodland, make pitstops at our Teepee Encampment or Tangle Tree Climb and listen out for fairies and trolls!

Ice Skating

Missed ice skating during the Winter Weekends? You’re in luck. Our covered ice skating rink is the perfect spot to put your skating skills to the test.

Our ice rink is perfect for all over four years old and creates unforgettable memories. You may wobble about like Bambi and slip once or twice, but we can guarantee a day of laughs over tears!

Magical Maze

Just because it’s half-term doesn’t mean you can’t keep your kids’ minds active! Our giant yew tree maze offers 2 miles of twists and turns with unexpected obstacles throughout.

Let your children lead as you venture down new paths and meet mind-boggling dead ends. Will you complete the maze? There’s only one way to find out…

Playhive

Our Playhive is one of Europe’s largest indoor playgrounds, offering your kid a new world of adventures. You’ll step into the shoes of an astronaut in space, explore the jungle, walk in the air using high-level walkways and sail across the ocean as a first mate.

Glide down our giant slide and engage your mind with interactive games scattered throughout the play area. Your toddlers can enjoy the Playhive, too. We have a great toddler zone to keep your young ones active.

No one wants bumps and bruises! Caregivers must accompany and supervise all children under 16 in the Playhive.
