How to Keep Your Kids Busy on the Weekends
11th Apr 2024
When the weekend finally comes around, usually, all we want to do is nothing. No chores or going to another kids party – and especially no early rises (child permitting)!
But making an effort to do something fun is a great way to keep your family happy and work-life balance intact. So, if you’re struggling with ideas, don’t worry – we have just the list to inspire your weekend adventure below.
What Is There to Do in Yorkshire?
As any local would agree, Yorkshire is widely celebrated as ‘God’s Own Country’. With its beautiful scenery, medieval market towns and thriving cities, Yorkshire is the perfect weekend away.
As one of the biggest adventure parks in the UK, it wouldn’t go amis to visit Stockeld Park while you explore our magical county.
Every weekend, we open our park to families looking for an adventure. With outdoor and indoor activities, you’ll have plenty of fun things to do this weekend.
3 Fun Things to Do This Weekend
1. Go for a Family Walk
Any form of physical activity can release endorphins – the feel-good hormone! The health benefits of walking are clear. You’ll reduce stress and burn calories, all while catching up with your family and friends.
Why not have your next family walk in the Enchanted Forest—the place where fairytales come to life? Filled with interactive play, magical creatures, and acres of ancient woodland, you’ll have an adventure like no other.
If you’re eager to get your steps in, extend your walk into the Magical Maze and explore over 5 outdoor play areas, including the Tangle Tree Climb or Spider’s Lair.
2. Ride on Land and Sea
Feel at peace at sea? Or love the speed of a thrilling race track? Our go-kart track is the perfect weekend activity where you can put the pedal to the metal. Located just by Farmer Foster’s adventure playground, your kids (aged 5 and above) can take the wheel and get their practice in for their driving test. It’s never too early to start!
Once you’ve raced on land, head to the Buccaneer Boats and sail around the Enchanted Forest’s beautiful lake. All our boats are electric, so no rowing is needed, simply unwind and put your mind at ease.
3. Reach for the Sky
Let your kids burn off any remaining energy in our outdoor inflatable zone. Jump, slide, and climb across our huge double-lane inflatable slide, 100-foot obstacle course, and huge jumping pillow. It’ll keep your hearts bumping—that’s for sure!
