Where to Take Your Grandchildren for a Day Out in Yorkshire
20th Jul 2026
With activities all year round, Stockeld Park is the perfect place to round up the grandkids for a day out in Yorkshire. Whether you’re treating them during the summer holidays, enjoying a weekend adventure or giving the parents a well-earned break, heading to our adventure park is where all ages can have fun together.
What Makes Stockeld Park a Great Day Out for Grandparents & Grandchildren?
Easy to Explore Together
A great day out should be easy for everyone to enjoy. Accessible pathways, nearby facilities and plenty of space to explore make all the difference when you have the grandkids.
At Stockeld Park, our main walkways are tarmacked, making them easy to navigate with pushchairs and wheelchairs. Even our indoor play area, ice rink, Santa’s grotto, and other facilities are wheelchair-accessible. We also have lots of seating throughout the park, so when the kids tire you out, you can catch your breath and relax.
Activities for Different Ages
When you’re out with the grandchildren, you’re likely dealing with a mix of ages, so it’s helpful to choose a destination that offers something for everyone. After all, no one wants to be left out!
Your grandchildren, even ones as young as two years old, can take part in activities like:
-
Exploring all six outdoor playgrounds and Enchanted Forest
-
Having fun in our indoor play area, the Playhive, with a toddler zone for younger guests
-
Riding on the Flying Stocksman train journey
-
Solving our Magical Maze
-
Ice skating, visiting Santa in his grotto and experiencing the winter illuminations during the winter months
-
Bouncing on our giant inflatables and singing along at our music festival all summer long
For the safety of all, adults must accompany any children under 16 in case of an emergency. You can learn more about our age requirements and supervision policies in our FAQs.
Activities You Can Enjoy Together
Many guests tell us they love bringing the grandchildren to Stockeld Park because there's something for them to enjoy together, rather than simply watching from the sidelines.
From adventuring across the Enchanted Forest to riding our Buccaneer Boats and pedal go-karts, there are plenty of opportunities to join in the adventure. It's these shared experiences that help turn a simple day out into lasting family memories.
Nearby Facilities & Places to Eat
Every great adventure needs a pit stop! Having cafes, toilets, baby-changing facilities and places to recharge can make a day much more enjoyable for everyone.
At Stockeld Park, you'll find facilities conveniently located throughout the park, including accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. If the little ones need to refuel, there are a variety of food and drink options available at the Playhive Pizzeria, Woodland Cafe and Gretel’s Cabin.
Does Stockeld Park Offer Discounts for Seniors?
Yes, we offer discounted tickets for adults aged over 60. A senior ticket includes all-day entry to our adventure park and 90 minutes of access to the Playhive.
We ask that all guests bring a form of ID in case we need to verify their age (take this as a compliment!).
